BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team dropped a 3-1 home game to Tufts on Friday night.
The Polar Bears (13-6-4, 9-4-4 NESCAC) suffered a series sweep at the hands of the Jumbos (12-9-2, 9-7-1 NESCAC) after falling at Tufts in the first semester.
Game Highlights
- The Jumbos went ahead1-0 early in the first off a Bowdoin misstep. Liam O'Hare intercepted a breakout pass at the blue line to keep the puck in and found John Mulvihill on the left. Mulvihill's shot slipped past Alex Kozic.
- Jack Barbro plucked the puck off a Tufts player five minutes into the second and skated into Jumbos territory. Barbro put a shot off pads and the rebound bounced to Bryce Bollman. Bollman put the puck in from the left side.
- Tufts regained the lead in the second period's final minute off a Bowdoin turnover in the zone. O'Hare converted on a wrister after grabbing the puck just inside the blue line.
- Tyler Sedlak set up the third Tufts goal midway through the third. Sedlak passed from the high slot to Cam Newton on the right. Newton centered to Max Resnick for a one-timer.
By the Numbers
- Kozic stopped 16 shots for the Polar Bears.
- Peyton Durand made 30 saves for Tufts.
- Bowdoin held a 35-28 edge in faceoff wins.
- Both teams went 0-for-1 on the power play.
