Men's Soccer Earns At-Large Selection to NCAA Division III Tournament

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's soccer team has earned an at-large choice to the NCAA Division III Tournament in selections announced on Monday.

The Polar Bears (7-5-5) will be heading to San Antonio, Texas, to play in a regional hosted by Trinity (Texas) University. Bowdoin will play in the opening round on Friday at 8:30 p.m. (ET) against Hardin-Simmons (Texas) University (12-5-2). The winner of that game will advance to the second round on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (ET) against the victor of Trinity (Texas) (17-0-3) and Belhaven (11-3-4) for a trip to the Sweet Sixteen.

Despite falling to Middlebury in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday, Bowdoin finished the season ranked 24th in the Division III NPI rankings due to their strength of schedule index to capture an at-large bid. The NESCAC, as a conference, had eight teams selected to the tournament.

Bowdoin will be making its tenth NCAA Tournament appearance all-time and first since 2022. In their last tournament showing, Bowdoin advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to Mary Washington, 3-2. The Polar Bears have never played the three other teams in their regional, but did play in San Antonio when they reached the 2010 NCAA Division III semifinals.
