Box Score CASTINE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer settled for a 1-1 tie at Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday evening after the Mariners converted on a late penalty kick.
 
The Polar Bears are 2-5-5 on the season. The Mariners are 5-4-3.
 
Game Highlights

• The Polar Bears took the 1-0 lead with 10:46 remaining in the first half. The play started with Emilia Tutun in Bowdoin territory. Tutun worked the ball straight up the middle and sent a massive pass up the left side to Mary Rainey. Rainey launched a perfectly placed cross into the box for a header finish by Kayley Huleatt.
• Jackie Shores had a pair of near goals in the second half. The first came as she made midair contact with the ball and deflected a shot toward an open side of the net, only to find a defender in place of the goalie.
• Shores had a second attempt with a left-footed shot testing the goalie with a diving save to the far side.
• The Mariners tied the game with 10:29 remaining off a successful penalty kick conversion.
