Baseball Season Comes To End in NESCAC Tournament Loss To Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College baseball team saw its season come to an end in a 14-7 loss in the NESCAC Tournament to Colby on Saturday morning. The Polar Bears end their year with a record of 18-16 while the Mules (25-11) advance to another elimination game on Saturday afternoon.

Game Highlights
  • In a back-and-forth contest, Bowdoin plated two runs in the first inning, including an RBI double by Luke Chessie to take a 2-0 lead.
  • Colby answered with four in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to build a 7-3 lead heading into the sixth frame.
  • Bowdoin chipped away at the lead with a run-scoring double from Luke Foley in the sixth and a three-run seventh as a Stephen Simoes sac fly, a Kevin Murray single and an Aidan Carey walk tied the game at 7-7.
  • It was all Colby after that, however, as the Mules rallied for six runs in the eighth to put the contest out of reach. All but one of Colby's runs were unearned in the inning.
