BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team couldn't recover from an early deficit in a 16-6 NESCAC Quarterfinal loss to Middlebury on Saturday. The Polar Bears end their campaign with a record of 6-10 while the Panthers will host the NESCAC semifinals and championship next weekend.
 
Game Highlights

• Bowdoin took a 2-1 lead in the opening four minutes of the contest as Sophia Schaefer and Sophia Sudano scored back to back goals for the Polar Bears.
• Middlebury held Bowdoin scoreless for the next 30+ minutes of the game, however, rolling off seven straight goals.
• The Panthers led 7-2 at the break but Bowdoin chipped away in the second half, cutting the Middlebury lead to 9-6 with 5:26 to go in the third period.
• Middlebury held Bowdoin scoreless from there, ending the game on a 7-0 run to put the contest away.

By The Numbers

• Colleen McAloon and Sophia Schaefer had two goals each while Sophia Sudano ended with a goal and two assists.
• Schaefer had four draw controls while Maddie Corsetti had three caused turnovers.
• Sophie Brett made seven saves in net for the Polar Bears.
