BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team suffered a pair of tough losses to nationally-ranked teams at home this weekend. The 17
th-ranked Polar Bears, who lost to 13
th-ranked Williams and sixth-ranked Middlebury, drop to 2-9 this season.
Williams Match Highlights
- Bowdoin carried a lead into singles play, but couldn't hold on in a 6-3 loss to the Ephs on Saturday.
- Cara Hung/Jamilah Karah earned a win at one doubles (8-5) and Hannah Buckhout/Kennedi Carter (8-7) won at number two for the Polar Bears.
- Bowdoin could only muster one win in singles action, however, as Kennedi Carter claimed a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 win.
Middlebury Match Highlights
- Bowdoin earned a win at number two doubles from Carter/Buckhout (8-7), but we outdueled in singles action in a 8-1 setback to Middlebury on Sunday.
- The Panthers claimed six straight-set singles wins to earn the victory.
