Men's Lacrosse Suffers Season-Opening Setback to Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team suffered a 21-15 season-opening setback to Middlebury on Sunday afternoon. The Polar Bears fall to 0-1 this season while the Panthers improve to 1-0.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears jumped ahead early, scoring four of the game's first five goals to take an early 4-1 edge.
  • Middlebury replied with a 9-1 run to take a commanding 10-5 lead midway through the second quarter.
  • The Panthers took an 11-6 lead into halftime, and continued to roll in the third, scoring the first six goals out of intermission to push their lead to as many as 11 goals.
  • Bowdoin outscored the Panthers 6-3 in the final quarter to trim the final margin to six goals.

  • Patrick Fitzgerald led Bowdoin with six goals while Will Byrne had four goals and an assist.
  • Oliver Bernstein added three goals for the Polar Bears.
