Women's Hockey Completes Comeback to Take Down Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team scored a pair of third period goals to come from behind and capture a 3-2 victory at Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 6-3-0 on the season. The Wildcats drop to 2-11-0.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin came out of the gate and scored less than a minute into the game. Bella Mele dished a pass to Ava Imposimato who finished off the feed right in front of the net.
  • The Wildcats took the lead after scoring two goals in a one minute span in the waning minutes of the first period.
  • Despite dominating JWU in the second, putting 16 shots on net, Bowdoin was unable to find an equalizer.
  • The Polar Bears continued their offensive pressure and broke through on the power play midway into the third. Luna Lu and Sara Ito-Bagshaw moved the puck around the zone before finding Anyi Sun for a finish.
  • Maddie Montanaro scored her first collegiate goal at an ideal time. The first-year finished off a series of shots and rebounds at 12:36.

  • Bowdoin dominated play in nearly all facets of the game, including a 49-22 edge in shots.
  • The Polar Bears were 1-for-8 on the power play.
  • JWU went 0-for-3 with the extra skater.
  • Sarah Peterson earned her second win of the season in net with 20 saves.
  • Leah White made 46 saves for the Wildcats.
