NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team erased a three goal deficit in the third period to come from behind and topple Connecticut College 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears rebound from Friday's setback to climb to 4-2-1 (2-2-1 NESCAC) and snap a three game win streak for the Camels (3-5-0. 2-4-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin jumped out to an early lead with a goal at 3:28 off the stick of Luke Wheeler. The Camels responded 1:50 later to tie the game at 1-1 and the score stood through the remainder of the period.
- The Camels took their first lead of the game during a 5-on-3 power play in the final four minutes of the second. Cole Eichler and Michael DiMascolo cycled the puck around the perimeter before finding Steven Ardagna who fired a shot past Alex Kozic.
- Conn pushed their lead to 3-1 at 9:15 when John Russo finished off a feed from Quinn Kennedy to the top corner.
- The Polar Bears battled back as Jack Gilligan found the net with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.
- Wheeler scored the game-tying goal on an unassisted effort with 3:59 remaining.
- Michal Dinges played the hero, providing Bowdoin with the game-winner with 1:40 remaining in the game off a feed from Jack Studley.
