GENEVA, N.Y. – The Bowdoin College women's soccer team will play Swarthmore College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on the campus of William Smith College.

TICKET INFORMATION
Tickets are $6 for general admissions, $3 for senior citizens, military personnel and students (ages 13-college), children ages 3-12 are $2. Children under 3-years old are admitted free.
POLAR BEAR NOTES
Bowdoin is making its 13
th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time and back-to-back appearances for the first time since 2014-15. The Polar Bears received an at-large bid thanks to finishing as runners-up in the NESCAC Tournament after a third-place finish in the nation's toughest conference this season. The NESCAC had five teams selected to the Division III Championship, the most of any conference. Bowdoin had five players selected in All-NESCAC honors announced earlier this week.
Greta Farkas and
Jess Klein were recognized as First Team selections while
Stephanie Christianson,
Morgan Smiley and
Kyra Hacker netted Second Team choices. Bowdoin is 3-10-3 in its 12 previous trips to the NCAA Tournament and will be looking for their first-ever appearance in the "Sweet Sixteen". Bowdoin has never faced William Smith, Nazareth, or Swarthmore in its women's soccer history.
AROUND THE REGIONAL
- William Smith is ranked seventh in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. The Herons earned their 19th Liberty League Tournament Championship and the league's automatic bid with a 1-0 win over Rochester Institute of Technology on Sunday. The Herons are making their 33rd NCAA tournament appearance (67-24-10). The Herons are seeking their third national title (1988, 2013).
- The Golden Flyers enter the tournament with an 8-4-6 overall record. Nazareth defeated St. John Fisher 3-0 to secure the Empire 8 Conference championship and the league's automatic bid. This will be Nazareth's 13th appearance in the tournament. The Golden Flyers are 8-12-1 in their previous appearances to the dance. William Smith defeated Nazareth 2-0 back on Oct. 18 on Cozzens Field.
- Like Bowdoin, the Garnet also earned an at-large bid. They are 12-3-2 overall this season and were edged by Franklin and Marshall in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference tournament. This will be Swarthmore's seventh trip to the tournament. They are 7-6-4 in their previous six trips.
