Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin field hockey team secured a 3-2 win over Colby in a back-and-forth Wednesday night matchup.
The Polar Bears are 10-3 (5-3 NESCAC). The Mules remain winless in conference play at 4-9 (0-9 NESCAC). Bowdoin currently holds an 18 game win streak against Colby.
Game Highlights
- The Mules struck first with a goal six minutes into the game. Following a broken corner, a rebound kicked out to Lillian Kistner who lifted the ball. Molly Mitchell batted at the ball at the left post to ensure it crossed the goal line.
- Bowdoin responded three minutes later. Maya Malenfant put away a reverse sweep from the right side of the stroke line.
- Jane Shanahan put the Polar Bears ahead 2-1 midway through the second quarter. Shanahan pulled the ball back out from a scrum in front of the net and tucked a shot inside the right post.
- Colby responded a minute later. Lilly Conway deflected a shot in front of the goalie off an initial shot by Kistner.
- Faith Jennings pushed the Polar Bears back on top with a play out of transition nine minutes into the third quarter. Jennings raced down the center of the field and pulled right to send a diving shot into the goal.

- Bowdoin held a 17-3 total shots lead and 11-3 edge in shots on goal.
