Second Half Flurry Leads Conn College Over Women's Hoops

NEW LONDON, Conn. – A big second half lifted the Connecticut College women's basketball team to a 60-56 win over Bowdoin on Friday night. The Camels earn their first NESCAC win and improve to 7-11 (1-4 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 13-7 (2-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears led 15-11 after one quarter and opened up a 31-26 lead going into halftime thanks to ten first-half points from Sydney Jones.
  • The Camels rebounded with a big third quarter, shooting 60% from the field and holding Bowdoin to two field goals as they grabbed a 41-40 edge heading into the final frame.
  • Conn College opened the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run, opening up a nine-point lead that Bowdoin couldn't recover from.
  • The Polar Bears ended the game on an 11-4 run, but never had a possession to tie or take the lead.

  • The Polar Bears ended at 32% shooting for the game while the Camels hit on 51% from the field in the victory.
  • The Camels also scored 22 points off 21 Bowdoin turnovers to overcome a 40-30 Polar Bear edge on the glass.
