Men's Hockey Tames Rams in Tuesday Shutout

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin goaltender Kevin Clark recorded a shutout in his first career start in net as the Polar Bear men's ice hockey team blanked Suffolk 4-0 on Tuesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 11-5-1 on the season while the Rams fall to 5-10-2.
 
Game Highlights
  • After a back and forth opening period, Bowdoin got on the board with a little less than two minutes to play as Bobby Pearl caused a turnover in his defensive zone, played it ahead to Luke Wheeler who charged into the Suffolk zone. Wheeler played a one-timer back to Pearl, who tucked a slapshot inside the right post at 18:11
  • Bowdoin doubled their lead in the second frame as Pearl collected the puck in front of his own net, fed it ahead to James Cerepak, who dished it to Ethan Kimball. Kimball slipped a low shot past Cal Wilcox at 6:37.
  • The Polar Bears added a third early in the final frame, as James Cerepak forced a turnover behind the Rams' net and fed it in front to Chris Brown, who poked it home at 3:20.
  • Ean Small put home the capper at 15:31, banging home a cross-ice feed from Luke Wheeler.

  • Bobby Pearl finished with a goal and an assist while James Cerepak and Luke Wheeler had two assists each.
  • Clark finished the night with 25 saves in the shutout as Bowdoin owned a 31-25 advantage in shots.
