Men's Basketball Cruises to Non-Conference Win at Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team scored a season-high 97 points in a convincing 97-66 win over Thomas College on Tuesday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 7-11 with the win while the Terriers drop to 3-13.
 
Game Highlights
  • The Polar Bears were scalding hot from the field, finishing at 58% shooting for the game and never trailing after the opening moments.
  • Bowdoin rolled off a 10-1 start to the game, and pushed their lead to 22 points, 46-22, at halftime.
  • The Polar Bears continued to roll in the second half, knocking down 61% from the field and leading by as many as 33 points on their way to the win.
By The Numbers
  • Six different Polar Bears reached double digits, led by Xander Werkman's 18 points and 12 rebounds on 9-11 shooting from the field.
  • Michael Simonds, James McGowan and Nolan Bessire had 11 points each while Kevin Reeves and Alex Halpern added ten apiece.
  • The Polar Bears held Thomas to 37% shooting and out-rebounded the Terriers 47-25.
  • Bowdoin scored 27 points off turnovers and got 45 bench points in the blowout.
