BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team picked up its fifth NESCAC victory of the season in a 3-2 win over Williams on Friday night.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 10-4-1 (5-4-1 NESCAC) and remedy a three-game NESCAC losing streak. The Ephs are 4-10-1 (2-6-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Bowdoin went ahead 1-0 in the first period during four-on-four action. Bobby Pearl poked the puck free of a Williams player in the neutral zone. Ethan Kimball collected the puck and skated into Ephs territory with Jesse Lycan to his left. Kimball drew the goalie and backhanded a pass to Lycan in front to beat Cal Sandquist.
• The Polar Bears doubled their lead midway through the second period. Patrick Callahan won a faceoff on the right dot and pushed to puck to Gabe Shipper. Shipper sent a cross to Nate Clark on the far post to go ahead 2-0.
• The Ephs battled back in the final two minutes of the period. Jacob Eckerle blocked a shot and the rebound kicked in front of the Williams bench where Jonah Gold collected the puck and skated towards Alex Kozic, wristing a shot to the far right pipe.
• Nicholas Rashkovksy tied the game with 22 seconds remaining as Gold fired a shot from the right post for Rashkovsky to deflect in front of the crease.
• lark scored the game-winner under two minutes into the third period. A series of quick passes from Albert Washco to Joe Alexander set up the close-range goal.

 
By the Numbers

• Kozic made 27 stops to earn the win in net.
• Sandquist saved 28 shots for the Ephs.
• Bowdoin held a slight 37-34 faceoff advantage.
• The Williams short-handed goal was the only special teams goal of the game, despite a combined ten penalties.
