BRUNSWICK, Maine –
Allie Britt scored two goals to lift the Bowdoin women's hockey team to a shutout victory over Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

The 2-0 win gave the Polar Bears (7-7-0, 2-6-0 NESCAC) a key conference win. The Cardinals (9-3-1, 3-3-0 NESCAC) were shut out for only the second time this season.

Game Highlights
	- Both goalies denied promising offensive bids in the opening period. Christina Tournas picked off a breakout pass in the Bowdoin zone and turned on Dani Marquez for a one-on-one. Marquez made the point-blank save.

	- On the other end, Rei Halloran stopped multiple Polar Bear opportunities. Gia Massari took a feed from the left boards and tried to beat Halloran on the far side midway through the frame.

	- The Polar Bears went ahead 1-0 at 11:33 as Peyton Mulhern carried the length of the ice along the left boards and put a shot on pads. The left leg rebound was quickly tracked down by Allie Britt for a one-timer at the far post.

	- Bowdoin doubled its lead midway through the second. Kathryn Kester charged back to defend a Wesleyan player heading into the Bowdoin zone and won the puck. Kester fed Britt at the Polar Bear blue line. Britt skated to the edge of Wesleyan territory and made an off-balance shot on her way to a shift change that found its way past Halloran.

	- The Polar Bears killed off a six-on-three power play in the game's final minutes to preserve the shutout and win.
