WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Bowdoin College women's tennis players 
Jamilah Karah and 
Cara Hung won the ITA New England Division III doubles championship this weekend at Williams College.
 
Bowdoin's top doubles duo was seeded eighth heading into the tournament, which features 64 of the top singles players the top 32 doubles teams from the region. The pair dominated their opening three matches, winning against teams from Colby (8-2), Tufts (8-3) and Bates (8-1) to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal round, they defeated Hartman/Kimball from Trinity (8-4) to advance to face Pertsemlidis/Lu from MIT in the title match. Using pro sets, Karah and Hung claimed a 6-4, 6-3 victory to take the win.
 
The victory qualifies the duo for the ITA Cup, hosted by Berry College in Rome, Ga., on October 13-16. Karah qualified last year as the New England singles runner-up.
 
Bowdoin's 
Kennedi Carter and 
Evelyn Safar also reached the round of 16 in the doubles bracket at the ITA Regional this weekend.
