BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Jane Walsh as assistant coach for the women's soccer program.
Walsh succeeds former assistant coach
Madeline Buckley, who was named head coach at Macalester College in January.
Most recently the head coach at Salve Regina University for the last six seasons, Walsh turned around a program that had won six games in the two years prior to her arrival in 2015 to a team that made six consecutive postseason appearances and winning 38 matches during her tenure. During Walsh's time as head coach, Salve boasted multiple Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Year recipients and All-CCC Team members.
Prior to Salve, Walsh coached for Bruno United FC (Providence, RI) while pursuing a career in strength and conditioning, and physical therapy. A 2013 graduate of Keene State College, Walsh was a defender that helped lead the Owls to a stellar 45-23-6 overall record in her playing career. At Keene State, Walsh earned a Bachelor's of Science in Health Science and a specialization in Exercise Science.
