ORANGE, Calif. – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team opened its 2022 campaign with a sweep in California, defeating Sewanee and Chapman in a pair of matches on Tuesday.
 
Sewanee Match Highlights

• The Polar Bears opened their spring trip in California with an 8-1 win over Sewanee.
• Bowdoin jumped to an early advantage with sweep of doubles matches.
• Tristan Bradley/Reid Staples, Evan Fortier/Jack Flores, and Ethan Bradley/Pieter Breuker all took easy 8-2 wins in doubles action.
• Reid Staples, Evan Fortier, Jack Flores, Ethan Bradley and Pieter Breuker accounted for Bowdoin's singles wins, all coming in straight-sets.

Chapman Match Highlights

• Bowdoin completed its opening-day sweep with a 7-2 triumph over Chapman.
• The Polar Bears earned doubles wins from Evan Fortier/Jack Flores (8-5) and Sujan Garapati/Geoffrey Golan (8-4).
• Bowdoin clinched it in singles play, earning points from Staples, Fortier, Flores, Ethan Bradley and Breuker to put it away.
