Women's Hockey Sees Season End at Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team could not crack through the Amherst defense in a 5-0 NESCAC Quarterfinal loss to the Mammoths on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears conclude the season at 10-11-1 after earning the number six seed in the conference playoffs. Amherst advances to the semifinals with a 13-8-2 record.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin dominated offensively in the first period and held a 19-3 edge in shots. Despite the control, the Polar Bears were unable to breakthrough.
  • Amherst scored less than a minute into the second period to take a 1-0 lead and added another goal three minutes later.
  • The Mammoths put away another pair of goals in the first ten minutes of the third period, with identical stat lines. Rylee Glennon recorded the goal with assists to Anna Baxter and Alyssa Xu.
  • Amherst wrapped up the game with a final goal in the last two minutes.
