Men's Hockey Wraps First Semester with a 6-3 Win Against Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's hockey team concluded the first semester with a 6-3 victory over Connecticut College on Saturday to post a perfect NESCAC weekend.

The Polar Bears are 5-1-1 (3-1-1 NESCAC) heading into the break. The Camels are 1-7-0 (0-6-0 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • A Bowdoin turnover in the right corner of their defensive zone gave Connecticut College the opening it need to go ahead 1-0. Just 1:02 into the second, John Russo collected the puck and found Anthony Quatieri alone in front of the net. Quatieri found space inside the near post.
  • Ten minutes into the period, the Camels extended their lead to two. Cole Eichler found Quatieri in front of the net for a shot. Quatieri's shot was stopped by Alex Kozic, but the puck snuck through and Eichler pushed it across the goal line.
  • Skating four-on-four, the Polar Bears answered two minutes later. Patrick Callahan skated into the zone and drew a pair of defenders to the middle. Callahan passed through to Gabe Shipper who carried right and tucked a shot between the goalie's skate and near post
  • Bowdoin tied the game at 14:39 as Cam Berube skated into the zone and fired a shot from the blue line to far right post. Andy Stoneman put the feed in.
  • Bowdoin took its first lead of the game less than a minute into the third period. Callahan passed back up the right boards to Joe Alexander. Alexander passed across to Shipper low on the far side, who found an opening.
  • The Polar Bears put in two more goals before the third period reached the five minute mark. Stoneman clanged one off the pipe that went in and Aidan Lyons got open on the left side for a clean look to make it 5-2.
  • The teams traded goals in the 11th and 12th minutes.
