Men's Soccer Surrenders First Goal of the Season in Loss to Middlebury

 MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Middlebury men's soccer team handed Bowdoin its first loss of the season in a 1-0 contest on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears leave Vermont at 3-1-0 (1-1-0 NESCAC). The Panthers remain perfect at 4-0-0 and 2-0-0 in NESCAC.
 
Game Highlights
  • Ben Brown had Bowdoin's most promising scoring opportunity of the first half, curling a free kick on net that forced Ryan Grady to punch the ball away.
  • Two minutes later, Middlebury's Liam Sloan nearly converted on a foul from 25-yards out. Michael Webber dove to the right and snared the ball to keep the game knotted at zero.
  • Middlebury netted the game's lone goal in the 71st minute. Jordan Saint-Louis collected a loose ball, bested a defender, and buried a shot top right corner.
