CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College volleyball team defeated Keene State, 3-1, and lost to MIT, 3-0, as they split on day two action at the MIT Invitational Saturday. With the decisions, the Polar Bears stand at 2-2 overall this season.
Keene State Match Highlights
- After dropping the intitial set, the Polar Bears rallied to win three straight in a 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 26-24 win.
- Trailing 23-21 in the fourth set, Bowdoin fended off a set point and rallied to finish off Keene with a 5-1 surge, capped by Sophia Pahl kill to end it.
- Pahl finished with a team-high 18 kills and added 14 digs in the victory. Jenna Robbins added 15 kills and Jaida Hodge-Adams pitched in 10.
- Ella Haugen (27 assists) and Joy Liu (24 assists) split setting duties while Maya White had three aces and 15 digs to lead the team.
MIT Match Highlights
- MIT, playing their seventh match of the season, dispatched Bowdoin in three sets 25-14, 25-20, 25-18 to earn the sweep.
- Cori Gray, who earned All-Tournament honors for Bowdoin, had three blocks in the defeat. Pahl had nine kills and White added eight digs in the setback.
