Volleyball Beats Wesleyan For Fourth NESCAC Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team claimed its fourth New England Small College Athletic Conference championship, defeating Wesleyan in four sets, 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in Morrell Gymnasium.

It's the third title for the Polar Bears in the last six seasons under the direction of head coach Erin Cady (2015, '18, '21) and fourth overall, including 2011. Bowdoin earns the NESCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and will learn their pairings when the bracket is released at 12:30 p.m. Monday on NCAA.com.

  • The Polar Bears completely dominated the first two sets, crushing the Cardinals with early runs in the first two sets.
  • Bowdoin jumped to an 11-3 lead in the opening set before cruising the rest of the way and decimated the Cardinals with a 13-5 opening en route to a 2-0 lead.
