MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Middlebury field hockey team rallied for a 4-3 victory to earn its fourth straight NESCAC Championship on Sunday afternoon over Bowdoin.
The Panthers (18-0) earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Polar Bears (14-4) will look to earn an at-large bid to the tournament.
Game Highlights
- Faith Jennings scored the game's first goal 6:15 into the game, tucking in a loose ball off a scramble in front of the net.
- With just over three minutes remaining, Jill Cloonan controlled the ball in the midfield and fed Jennings with a long leading pass behind Middlebury's defense. Jennings carried the ball into a one-on-one with Grace Harlan and pulled around the goalie and continued towards the left end line. Jennings flicked a low shot into the net.
- Five minutes into the second quarter, Jennings made it a hat trick. Again, the junior finished off a feed from Cloonan.
- Middlebury cut into Bowdoin's lead with a goal three minutes before the half. The goal was Erin Nicholas' first of three.
- The Panthers clawed back and tied the game with a pair of goals in the third quarter. Nicholas tallied the game-winner with eight minutes remaining.

- The Panthers held a 19-5 edge in shots and 12-5 corner advantages.
- Maddie Ferrucci made six saves in the game. Harlan made a pair of stops, both in the third quarter.
