BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin's Cori Gray and Sophia Pahl were named American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-Americans in awards announced by the organization last week.
 
Cori Gray (Winter Park, Fla.) was named AVCA Third Team All-American while Sophia Pahl (Cedarburg, Wis.) was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American. Both Gray and Pahl were also named First Team All-Region while Ella Haugen (Minneapolis, Minn.) joined them as Honorable Mention All-Region.
 
Gray caps a sensational senior year by becoming the sixth Bowdoin player to earn placement on an All-American team. The NESCAC Player of the Year, Gray conference leader in blocks with 93 (0.96/set), and also ranked among the league leaders in kills (2.78), hitting percentage (.344) and service aces (44). She was twice named NESCAC Player of the Week this fall.
 
Sophia Pahl excelled all over the court for the Polar Bears this year, leading the team and ranking among the NESCAC's best with 3.16 kills/set (316 total) while also racking up 3.09 digs/set. She also led Bowdoin with 50 service aces on the season. In addition to being named Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-Region, Haugen was also named First Team All-NESCAC.
 
Ella Haugen finished off a outstanding year by being named Honorable Mention All-Region following a Second Team All-NESCAC selection earlier this fall. Bowdoin's prolific setter played in 101 of Bowdoin's 103 total sets this fall, ranking second in the league in total assists (884) at 8.75/set. She also had 44 service aces on the season and 250 digs (2.48/set).
 
Bowdoin ended their 2021 campaign with a 23-5 record, claiming the NESCAC Championship and advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
