Sailing Concludes Fall Schedule at Match Race National Championship

Coach Pizzo's Report - November 16

The Polar Bears competed in the Match Race National Championship hosted by the University of South Florida and St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Ten of the top teams from around the country competed in the event. Conditions were up and down all weekend which limited racing. The Polar Bears finished Saturday with a record of 2-4 with some strong wins against Jacksonville University and Tulane University. On Sunday, the Polar Bears had close races against Georgetown and Fordham but ultimately lost the races after leading for the first half. The Polar Bears defeated Coast Guard in their final race with a strong race from start to finish. Bowdoin finished seventh overall.
