WATERVILLE, Maine – The Colby College football team scored 21 unanswered points in the final 15 minutes to rally past Bowdoin, 21-10, and win the CBB Championship on Saturday evening.
Colby ends the year with a record of 4-5 while Bowdoin ends the year at 1-8.
Game Highlights
- Defense dominated the first half as the only scoring came courtesy of a Jotham Casey 29-yard field goal for Bowdoin with 16 seconds left in the second quarter.
- The Polar Bears extended their lead in the third quarter, capping a 12-play, 75-yard drive with a two-yard run by Andre Eden to take a 10-0 lead.
- Colby scored a touchdown on the final play of the third quarter, ending a 16-play, 77-yard drive with a one-yard plunge by Donovan Ganges to make it 10-7 heading to the fourth.
- The Mules scored twice on Matt Hersch runs in the final quarter, and a late interception sealed the win for Colby.
By The Numbers
- Andre Eden capped a phenomenal rookie campaign at running back for Bowdoin with a 98-yard rushing effort, finishing the year at 978 yards rushing, the third-most in school history in a single season.
- Bowdoin held Colby to 256 yards of total offense, but could only muster 252 themselves and were victimized by five penalties, while Colby was called for none on the evening.
- Chris Altoff had a team-high ten tackles while Liam Ford had nine.
