BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin volleyball senior Cori Gray (Winter Park, Fla.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Gray led Bowdoin to a pair of conference wins to clinch the top seed for the 2021 NESCAC Tournament. At Colby, Gray put home 19 kills against one error with four blocks to lead the Polar Bears to a win. She followed it up with 11 kills and seven service aces versus Bates, clinching first place for Bowdoin. For the week, Gray averaged 3.00 kills, posted a .424 hitting percentage, and accounted for 40 points.
Gray is enjoying a fantastic senior campaign, and ranks among the NESCAC's best in hitting percentage (.338), kills/set (2.64) and blocks/set (0.86). It is the second time this season that Gray has earned NESCAC Player of the Week Recognition.
With the victories, Bowdoin earned the NESCAC's top seed and
hosting rights for the conference championship beginning Friday. The Polar Bears will battle Hamilton in a quarterfinal match Friday at 5:00 p.m. in Morrell Gymnasium.
