Box Score CLINTON, N.Y. – Manveer Sandhu scored with under a minute to play in overtime to hand the Bowdoin field hockey team a 1-0 win over Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 8-3 on the season and 4-3 in NESCAC action. The Continentals are 7-4 (3-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Goalies for both teams kept their respective sides in the game throughout play, making multiple point-blank saves.
• Midway through the first quarter, Maddie Ferrucci stood her ground and denied a shot by Tracey Stafford from three feet away. The senior goalie set up and waited for Stafford to take a shot from near range, turning the ball away with a play to her right side.
• Ferrucci made several consecutive saves in the final two minutes of the opening frame, diving to stop the initial shot and stonewalling the subsequent rebounds.
• A couple minutes into the second quarter, Faith Jennings missed the cage by inches with a cross net shot.
• Maggie Reville made a composed save on the opposite side against Georgie Coetzer on a corner in the fourth quarter. A rebound kicked out to Coetzer who settled the ball and looked for an open shot. Reville recovered on the angle and made a save on the move.
• With the game in overtime, Jennings nearly ended it with another spin move just beyond the stroke line. Again, the ball missed just wide.
• Sandhu provided the overtime spark. Maggie Frederick collected the ball just inside Hamilton's half and fed Sandhu at the dotted line. Sandhu carried a defender into the circle and moved towards stroke. Reville came out to make a play on the ball, but Sandhu reversed a shot through the goalie's legs.

• Bowdoin held a 19-10 shot advantage. Both teams earned eight corners.
• Ferrucci made seven saves to earn the shutout.
