MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's soccer team carried an early lead in Saturday's quarterfinal but could not hold off a late rally by Wesleyan and fell 2-1.
The Polar Bears conclude the year at 8-7-1, while the Cardinals advance to the semifinals with a 13-1-1 record.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead 20 minutes into the contest. Aine Lawlor passed a through ball to Julia Adelmann who then connected with Morgan Smiley. The tic-tac-toe passing set up Smiley for the game's first goal.
- The Polar Bears kept Wesleyan off the board until the 65th minute. Dani Milovanov lined up a corner kick and connected with Grace Devanny who put it away.
- Wesleyan's game-winner came in the 76th minute off the foot of Emily Ribatt.
