Women's Soccer Plays to Double Overtime Tie at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer team dominated Colby statistically but was unable to put a goal away and tied 0-0 in double overtime on Sunday.
 
The Polar Bears are 6-3-1 (1-3-1 NESCAC) following a 1-0-1 weekend of conference action. The Mules are 3-3-3 (0-3-3 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • While the Polar Bears held a 5-2 edge in shots during the opening half, they were unable to find the net. Lynn Farquhar rang a shot off the crossbar with ten minutes remaining in the frame.
  • Bowdoin stepped up the offensive pressure even more in the second half, putting up eight shots. Bowdoin peppered the defense in the 55th minute with quick shots from Julia Adelmann and Annie Pyne forcing a goalie save and a defensive save.
  • Bowdoin had multiple corner kick opportunities in the second overtime and mustered three shots.

  • Bowdoin held a 19-8 shot advantage and 6-1 edge during the two overtimes.
  • The Polar Bears took 15 corner kicks to Colby's three.
  • Alex Arndt made one save in the first half.
  • Penny Rocchio made three saves in the second half and 20 minutes of overtime.
  • The Colby keepers combined for nine saves.
