WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team suffered a 2-0 loss to Colby in the NECAC Quarterfinals to close out the 2019-20 season.
The Polar Bears end the year at 8-14-3 after earning the seven seed for the NESCAC playoffs. Colby advances to the semifinals with a 15-5-5 record.
Game Highlights
- Dani Marquez posted a clean sheet in the opening 20 minutes, stopping all 16 shots she faced. The Polar Bears killed off one penalty in the first.
- Colby scored with 7:21 remaining in the second period to make it 1-0. Lexi Cafiero buried the puck off feeds from McKinley Karpa and Tess Dupre.
- Karpa netted an insurance goal for the hosts early in the third.
By the Numbers
- Marquez stopped 31 shots for the Polar Bears. The sophomore set a new program record for saves in a single season, totally 618 on the year.
- Nina Prunster made 17 stops for the shutout.
- Bowdoin went 0-for-4 on the power play.
- Colby was 1-for-4 on the power play.
