NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's hockey team picked up a crucial 2-1 road win over Connecticut College on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears (11-11-1, 7-9-1 NESCAC) remain in the thick of a gridlocked NESCAC playoff hunt. The win over the Camels (10-11-2, 6-9-2 NESCAC) was crucial in surviving the crowded conference field.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead 5:30 into the second period. Pat Geary scored in his second consecutive game to put the Polar Bears on the board. Chris Brown and Michael Brown recorded the helpers.
- Bradley Ingersoll tallied a power play goal with 3:49 remaining in the period. Joe Alexander swung a pass to Thomas Dunleavy who set up Ingersoll's goal.
- The Camels cut the deficit to one with a power play conversion of their own just two minutes into the third.
- The Polar Bears held off nine third period shots to preserve the win.
