Trio Of Polar Bears Score in Field Hockey Shutout at USM

GORHAM, Maine – The Bowdoin field hockey team returned to the win column with a 3-0 victory over host University of Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (4-1) moved up in this week's national rankings and sit at seventh in the country. The Huskies sit at 2-5 on the season.

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin controlled play and got on the board ten minutes into action. Kara Finnerty sent a through ball onto the stick of Emma Stevens for the first goal.
  • Lindsay Pych made a career high 24 saves in the game, turning away 11 shots in the first half of action.
  • The Polar Bears doubled their lead in the third quarter. Manveer Sandhu scored ten minutes into the frame off a rebound.
  • Finnerty had the game's final goal with four minutes remaining in the contest, also putting away a rebound.
