Women's Tennis Can't Mount Comeback Against Middlebury

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The third-ranked Middlebury College women's tennis team was too much for sixth-ranked Bowdoin, 8-1, in a match played at Maine Pines on Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears fall to 11-4 this season with the loss.

  • The Panthers swept doubles play and never looked back, winning five of six singles matches to secure the victory.
  • The closest doubles match was at number one, where Julia Marks and Devon Wolfe dropped a hard-fought 8-7 (2) decision.
  • Fleming Landau accounted for the lone Bowdoin win in singles play, capturing a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number six.
