CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team picked up a tight 5-4 win over Trinity (Texas) and fell to third-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a 7-2 match on Friday and Saturday.

The Polar Bears fall to 4-4 while the Athenas improve to 14-0. The Tigers sit at 4-10.

Trinity (Texas) Match Highlights

• Bowdoin captured a pair of doubles victories at number one and two. The duo of Tess Trinka and Izzy Essi (8-1) cruised at the top spot, while Tasha Christ and Rachel Bercovitch won 8-5.
• Trinka captured a point at one (6-4, 6-0) as did Viv Daniel (6-3, 6-0) at five, and Sasa Jovanovic (6-4, 6-3) at six.

CMS Match Highlights

• The Athenas swept doubles play to jump out to a 3-0 lead.
• Tess Trinka earned a win at number one, coming back to win 4-6, 6-4 (10-7).
• Izzy Essi also picked up a point for the Polar Bears at number four (6-4, 7-6).
