Essi Secures Singles Win in Women's Tennis Setback to Pomona-Pitzer

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to sixth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears drop to 3-2 as the Sagehens improve to 5-1.

  • The number one pair of Tess Trinka and Izzy Essi battled in doubles, but ultimately fell 8-6.
  • Essi earned the lone point for Bowdoin in singles play with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory at number four.
  • Viv Daniel was the only other Polar Bear to steal a set from the Sagehens, winning her opener 6-4 before falling 6-4 in the second. Her opponent ultimately took the tiebreaker 10-4.
