Women's Basketball Races To Win at Maine-Farmington

FARMINGTON, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team overwhelmed the University of Maine-Farmington in a 96-27 victory on Tuesday evening.

The top-ranked Polar Bears remain unbeaten at 6-0 this season. The Beavers fall to 1-6 with the loss.

Game Highlights

  • The Polar Bears jumped to a 9-0 lead and never looked back, leading 27-13 after one quarter and carrying a 51-18 lead into halftime thanks to a 24-5 second quarter.
  • Bowdoin held UMF to just two points in the third quarter and led by as many as 70 points in the fourth quarter. 

 By The Numbers

  • Bowdoin finished at 52% shooting for the game and held UMF to just 25% shooting and forced 27 turnovers.
  • The Polar Bears posted a staggering 39-0 advantage in points off turnovers and got 43 points off the bench.
  • All 14 Polar Bears who played got into the scoring column, led by 14 from Taylor Choate and 13 from Samantha Roy. Maddie Hasson added 11 points.
  • Annie Maher had a team-high eight rebounds while Roy also recorded four assists and three steals.
