Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Trinity field hockey team converted on a late penalty corner to complete the come from behind 2-1 victory against Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears and Bantams share identical 8-2 regular season records. Bowdoin is 3-2 in NESCAC play, while Trinity is 5-2.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin scored with 14:56 remaining in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Manveer Sandhu sparked the play as she broke through the center of the field, splitting a pair of defenders, and finding Kara Finnerty on the left side of stroke. Finnerty made a spinning pass to Emma Stevens on the far post for the goal.
- Trinity responded seven minutes later. Nicole Quinlan inserted the ball to Chandler Solimine on a corner and Solimine fed the ball back low to Quinlan. Quinlan flicked the ball over Maddie Ferrucci to even the game.
- Ten minutes into the second half, Ferrucci denied a promising Trinity bid as Solimine earned a breakaway one-on-goal. Ferrucci slide tackled the approaching forward to break up the play.
- Ferrucci made another key save, this time denying Kendall Brown, with a diving stick save to her right side.
- The Bantams broke through with seven minutes remaining in the game to take a 2-1 lead. Quinlan inserted on the corner and found Caroline Fisher at the top. Fisher lofted an aerial over the Bowdoin defense.

- The Bantams held a 15-9 edge in shots, with both teams earning five corners.
- Ferrucci made nine saves. Elizabeth Bennewitz and Beth Koeller each recorded a defensive save.
