Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team earned another impressive win over a regional foe on Friday evening, taking a 3-1 victory at Endicott.
The Polar Bears improve to 17-1 this season and are one win shy of matching the best-ever start in program history (18-1 in 2011). Endicott falls to 13-9 with the loss.
Match Highlights
- The first two sets were tightly contested, but Bowdoin pulled away late in a 25-27, 28-26, 25-17, 25-21 victory.
- Bowdoin had set point in the first, leading 25-24, but Endicott scored three straight to close the 27-25 win to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Polar Bears had five set points in the second set, and finally cashed in a on kill by Caroline Flaharty to take a 28-26 win and knot the score at 1-1.
- Bowdoin used a key 5-0 surge in the middle of the third set to create some space and closed out on a 4-2 run, capped by another Flaharty kill, to take the third 25-17.
- The Polar Bears had to rally to clinch the victory in the fourth set as they fell behind early. Tied at 20 apiece, Bowdoin closed the match on a 5-1 run, ending it on a pair of Emily King service aces to take the victory.
