Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. - The Tufts University men's basketball team used a late run in the opening half and pulled away for a 87-65 victory over Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.
Winners of eight straight, Tufts is now 11-3 this season and 2-0 in NESCAC play. Bowdoin falls to 9-3 with the setback and 1-1 in NESCAC play.
Game Highlights
- The Jumbos got out to a good start, scoring the first seven points of the game. But, the Polar Bears scored the next seven to tie the game.
- With things locked at 19 the Jumbos got two free throws from senior Vincent Pace to take the lead, and would never trail again.
- Later in the half, Jack Simonds made a three for the Polar Bears to bring them within one, 23-22. But that was as close as the Polar Bears would get, as the Jumbos answered with a Luke Rogers layup, followed by a three from Dayton. A layup from Pace and a three from Dayton right at the end of the half gave Tufts a 41-29 lead at the break.
- The Jumbos rolled off an 18-0 run in the second half to put the contest out of reach. Tufts would lead by as many as 32 in the second half, picking up the 87-65 win.

- David Reynolds was the point leader for the Polar Bears with 16 points and four rebounds. Jack Simonds added 14 points and six boards.
- The Polar Bears had 11 players score points and got 37 points from their bench.
- Vincent Pace finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds, along with five assists.
