Torrid Start Leads Women's Hoops to Dominating Win at Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team scored the first 17 points of the game and cruised to a 88-46 win over Hamilton on Friday evening.

The 23rd-ranked Polar Bears rolled to their fourth-straight win and improve to 16-3 (5-2 NESCAC). The Continentals drop to 9-10 (2-5 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

  • The Polar Bears put the game out of reach early, jumping out to a 17-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and never looking back.
  • Bowdoin took advantage of five Hamilton turnovers in the opening quarter and used a stifling defensive effort to hold the Continentals to just 13% shooting in the first period.
  • Bowdoin led 22-4 after one quarter and held a 38-20 lead at halftime
  • The Polar Bears pushed their advantage to as many as 44 points in the second half en route to the win.

  • Maddie Hasson boasted an incredible stat line, connecting on all 10 shots she took in just 11 minutes of play, finishing with a game-high 22 points.
  • No other Polar Bear saw double-digits, but 14 players scored in the victory. Marle Curle led Bowdoin with seven rebounds and four assists while Hannah Graham was second on the team with nine points.
  • Bowdoin owned a dominant 49-24 edge in rebounding and scored 23 second-chance points.
  • The Polar Bears connected 47% of their shots in the game and held Hamilton to 33% for the contest.
