Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team cruised to a dominant season-opening win over host Skidmore College on Friday evening on the opening night of the Skidmore Invitational, 76-42.
The Polar Bears (1-0) jumped to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back to claim the win in their season debut. Skidmore falls to 0-1 with the setback.

- Bowdoin jumped to an early 12-2 lead thanks to six early points from Abby Kelly.
- The Thoroughbreds were able to cut the lead to 12-8 with a quick 6-0 spurt, but Bowdoin rebounded with an 11-1 run over the final 3:10 of the quarter to take a commanding 23-9 advantage after ten minutes of play.
- The Polar Bears owned a 43-22 edge at halftime and outscored Skidmore 24-8 in the third quarter to put the contest out of reach.

- Four Bowdoin players saw double figures, led by 13 from Kate Kerrigan, who also had five rebounds and five steals.
- Abby Kelley had 12 points, five rebounds, three steals and four assists while Taylor Choate and Lauren Petit had 11 points apiece.

- The Polar Bears were dominant defensively, holding Skidmore to 31% shooting and forcing 25 turnovers, and totaled 17 steals as a team.
