Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity field hockey team tipped Bowdoin 32 seconds into overtime to collect a 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 6-3 overall with a 3-3 mark in conference play. The Bantams continued to build as the season progresses, climbing to 6-4 (3-4 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin's most promising look of the first half came as Elizabeth Bennewitz controlled a loose ball near midfield and dribbled into the circle, firing off a shot that missed wide right.
- The Bantams tested first-year keeper Maddie Ferrucci on their second corner of the game, forcing her to make back-to-back stops. Neither team was able to score in the opening half and went into halftime, tied 0-0.
- Elle Brine broke through for the game's first goal. Following a corner, the sophomore tracked down a rebound off an initial Bennewitz shot and put it away from the left post four minutes into the second.
- Trinity took the lead with back-to-back penalty corner goals from Kelcie Finn and Chandler Colimine.
- Abby Bashaw tied the game with a breakaway goal just 30 seconds after Colimine gave Trinity the lead.
- Caroline Curtin ended the game in overtime, putting away a loose ball following a quick Trinity corner.
