Bowdoin Comeback Falls Short in Friday Volleyball Loss at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Wesleyan University women's volleyball team dealt Bowdoin just their second NESCAC loss of the season on Friday night in a 3-0 setback in Connecticut.

The Cardinals improve to 18-4 (8-1 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears drop to 13-9 (7-2 NESCAC) on the year.

  • Wesleyan won by increasingly competitive set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 27-25
  • The Cardinals jumped to a 7-2 lead in the opening set en route to the ten-point victory in the opener.
  • Tied at 22 apiece in the second set, the Cardinals won three of the next four points to take a 2-0 advantage.
  • Wesleyan appeared to be well on their way in the third set, taking an 18-11 lead before Bowdoin mounted an astounding comeback, eventually tying the set at 23-23. The Polar Bears came within a single point of winning the set, serving up 25-24, but the Cardinals won the final three points to take the win.
