Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Three different players tallied, including a pair of first career scorers, to lead the Bowdoin College women's soccer team to a 3-1 win at Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
After losing their league opener last Saturday, the Polar Bears have won two straight NESCAC contests to improve to 3-1-0 (2-1-0 NESCAC). The Cardinals fall to 2-2-0 (0-1-0 NESCAC).
Match Highlights
- Bowdoin controlled the pace of play for the majority of the first half and were rewarded in the 31st minute when Nikki Wilson put home her second goal of the season to give the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead at intermission
- First-year Talia Missan notched her first career goal at the 66-minute mark to double Bowdoin's lead
- Wesleyan answered just 2:40 later, trimming the lead to 2-1 with a goal from Sophia Linguiti
- Bowdoin settled in, however, and got a key insurance tally from first-year Morgen Gallagher, whose first collegiate goal at 74:48 put the contest on ice
- Rachel Stout made four of her five saves in the second half to help secure the victory for Bowdoin
