Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Amherst College women's volleyball team took the final two sets en route to a key 3-1 NESCAC win over Bowdoin on Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.
The Purple & White improve to 4-1 (1-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 4-2 (0-1 NESCAC).
Match Highlights
- Amherst claimed the win by match scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19
- Leading by three late in the opening set, Amherst closed on a 7-1 run, capped by a kill by Nicole Gould to cap the win
- Bowdoin used a 7-0 run on Katie Doherty's serve in the second set to take a commanding lead en route to the victory that evened the score at one apiece
- A tight third saw the teams trade the lead on multiple occasions before a 6-1 Amherst run pushed their advantage to 21-15 on the way to a 25-18 win
- After trailing midway through the fourth, the Polar Bears pushed the Purple & White to the limit, closing to within 22-19. Amherst claimed the final three points of the match, however, to seal the victory

- Emily Kolsky had a team-high 12 kills for Amherst, who used a balanced attack that featured 10 kills each from Maggie Danner and Lauren Reppert
- Charlotte Duran led Amherst with 20 assists while also pitching in ten digs
- Hayes Honea had a team-best 29 digs in the victory for the Purple & White
- Bowdoin got a match-high 16 kills from Caroline Flaharty while Michelle Albright added 13 and Erika Sklaver had ten
- Quincy Leech dished out 42 assists and had 17 digs while Katie Doherty earned 22 digs and had three aces
