CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team finished third at the season-opening MIT Invitational following a split of matches on day of the tournament on Saturday.

The Polar Bears opened the day with a 3-2 win over Roger Williams before falling to the host Engineers 3-0. Bowdoin stands at 3-1 overall this season. Quincy Leech was Bowdoin's representative on the All-Tournament team.

Roger Williams Highlights

• Bowdoin rallied from a 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 comeback win against the Hawks with set scores of 25-27, 25-18, 24-26, 25-18, 15-11
• Caroline Flaharty led the way for the Polar Bears with 15 kills and eight digs
• Khelsea Gordon had a dozen kills while Erika Sklaver finished with 10
• Quincy Leech had 27 assists while Clare McInerney notched 16
• Defensively Sklaver had four blocks while Katie Doherty gathered 22 digs

MIT Highlights

• The Engineers took the first set handily and held off Bowdoin in the second en route to the 3-0 win in the nightcap, 25-12, 26-24, 25-11
• Sklaver finished with seven kills while Leech and Gordon had six each
• Leech also had 16 assists while Doherty led the squad with 11 digs
