Women's Tennis Cruises Past Continentals Without Dropping A Set

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's tennis team swept visiting Hamilton on Saturday morning in a 9-0 decision.

The Polar Bears (10-1, 4-0 NESCAC) did not drop a single set to the Continentals (11-3, 0-2 NESCAC) in all nine matches.

Match Highlights

  • Tiffany Cheng and Joulia Likhanskaia captured an 8-1 victory at number one doubles, followed closely behind by an 8-2 decision at number two from Kyra Silitch and Tess Trinka. Pilar Giffenig and Maddie Rolph took an 8-4 decision in the three spot.
  • Samantha Stalder shutout her opponent at six singles with back-to-back 6-0 sets.
  • Rolph went 6-0, 6-1 at number five and Silitch went 6-1, 6-0 in the four spot.
  • Trinka won consecutive 6-3 sets at number three while Cheng went 6-2, 6-1 at two. Likhanskaia also cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 decision in the top spot.
